Watching the originals for the first time as a Klaroline Shipper.
Thursday, April 19, 2018
If you know me or follow my Instagram you know, I'm a TV junkie.Like big time, if there was rehab binge-watching and shipping couples, I probably be sent to serve time.Tonight the final season of The Originals is premiering. A TV show which I only watched the pilot of because it was the cause of my favorite ship (the act of one wanting/supporting two individuals involved in a romantic relationship) to be separated. Because of that, I made a vow never to watch this show until Caroline Forbes (Candice King) came on to this show, and after years if waiting guess what its happening.
(This post contains spoilers, after this point you have been warned.)
So tonight, as I am writing this review. This is the night that all Klaroline(Caroline +Klaus= Klaroline ) shippers have been waiting for, Klaus (Joseph Morgan)and Caroline are finally blessings our screen in the same universe and this time not through a phone or letter.
Let me start off with a little history for all those who don't know my history with this show. I first watched The Vampire Diaries on September 2009 when it first premiered all the way till the last season on March 10, 2017. At the time the show started I was a junior in high, yes still a teen when I first watched it. Before the start of the show I had read the books, so when I saw the first episode on the CW, I was thrown back by the changes that were made. Elena was brunet, not a blond as in the books. Another change was that Caroline Forbes was friends with Bonnie and Elena when in the book Caroline did not play such a big role. As the season continued the show, it continued to strive away from the books in major ways. One main change was Caroline Forbes's character. As a junior in high school I connected with Caroline's character the most, she was a young girl trying to fit in and doing everything she could to be accepted. So when She was killed and turned into a vampire a new twist. We got to meet this new strong Caroline that I connected with even more.
The show then took another extreme turn from the books and introduced The Originals.During that time all I cared about was when were Caroline and Tyler going to hook up and who is this Klaus
guy?Yes, I will say I am one of those people who shipped Forwood ( Tyler and Caroline ) and then left the ship. But who couldn't after Klaus the original vampire with a British accent said he fancied her. Yes, that was when I jumped ship and started Shipping Caroline.Though there were many ups and downs, many times when I wanted to give up on my favorite ship, yet I weathered out the storm(sorry for the pun..lol). I stayed shipping them even through marriages and some side pieces. Since the end of Vampire Dairies left us Klaroline shippers wanting more. And we might be finally getting it tonight!!!
That's why I decided to do this review as a shipper who never watches The Originals before, because I know I'm not the only one. So I hope you enjoy this review of the episode.
First off, I like to start with all the hype there is around this episode. On social media Candice posted this post regard us finally getting what we want....or are we? (Girl I cannot now).
I saw some more pictures of her and Joseph Morgan reading lines so I'm ready to watch this episode.
The title of the episode is Where you left your Heart. Okay with a title like that how can I not be excited. Since I never watched the show before now, I think this has to do with Klaus vowing to be Caroline's last love. Luckily the show gives us a little recap of what we missed in the last season. It looks like to save Hope the Mikaelson had to break there lifelong Promises of: Always and Forever. So now they have roam the earth by themselves with no connection to each other, as we all know their not a lot of fun apart.
It has been seven years since this happens we get to meet teenage Hope as she is pimping her blood out for money if you did not know her blood makes hybrids. Hope is doing all this in where everything started Mystical Falls, more importantly, the Salvatore boarding house that now is a school for gifted children (And Caroline is the headmasters of.) We see a familiar face right at the star and hear a familiar name. After this, we move on to New Orleans where we meet new people and Hailey. We also get introduced to the idea that the town has a treat between the witches, vampires and wolfs live in a truce. It was interesting to get and meet these new characters, and they seem like fun, but let’s get to the point where all genuinely interested to The originals and of occurs Klaus and Caroline’s first scene together.
Elijah the noble one got his memory’s compelled completely, Rebeca is in love with Marcel who is purposing, Kol is married (he came back from the dead, in case you did not know). Klaus is acting crazier then ordinary something Rebekah figures out and asks the one person in particular that can help aka Caroline Forbes
Right from the first moment when Caroline enters the show swooping in, she is already lecturing Klaus, and it was like they never left each other. The way he called her sweetheart and smiled at her, it was like the good old times. After some back and forth chatter or what I would call flirting. Caroline went straight into her taking charge mood and brought her cleaning toolbox and made Klaus help her clean as she lectured him on not being a good father and how he was still using the excuse of Mikael. It reminded me of their scene from the Mikaelson ball (season 3 episode 14)where she told him “I get it. Your father didn’t love you, so you assume that no one else will either.” Reminding him he was better than Mikael, and his daughter would understand. Because she happens to think he someone worth knowing.
After this conversation with Caroline, Klaus calls Hayley just to have Hope answer at first he stayed quiet until he finds Hayley is missing and his daughter is alone. He tells her he is coming home, I think because of Caroline lecture.
Overall it was a great first scene to see my favorite couple together, but once again I wanted more from them, and I genuinely hope we get to see them more. I’m still not sure if I keep watching the show, but something it reminded me of was how much I missed the originals interaction on vampire diaries
.

Planner for all your needs.
Monday, April 16, 2018
Since I came back home from my vacation to Spain last week, my life has just been upside down. Not only am I still dealing with time change. My daily routine has been out of the loop, I have new deadlines, meetings, and it’s just kept coming. To make matters even crazier my phone stop working the weekend I came back. My whole life is on that phone (save yourself from a big headache back up your phone people). Like most people I have all my reminders and plans written down on my phone's calendar/notes app. Because it stopped working I felt even more lost. Luckily, I received this fantastic planner from Transcending Waves, while I was away. So I felt what better time than this to start using it. If you read my last post about what i've learned, so far about blogging. one of the main points I've stressed was having a schedule and an excellent planner to help you stay on track.
This what I initially was going to use the Transcending Waves planner, but when I open it, I was genuinely surprise of what was inside this planner. It was no way just a regular planner, it has the following sections inside:
- Monthly Planning
- Weekly Planning
- Daily planning
- Reflection section
- Water tracker
- Goal setting
- and much more.
All these options inside the planner helps you achieve a more balanced life. It's not just a planner you use to schedule your week, but it also helps you set goals and lets you reflect on them. I use this section to set up my intentions. If you know me, I love to set intentions usually verbally or on a paper that I later lose. What I love is that I have them down in a secured section and then at night I can reflect on my goals and see if I conquer them for the day or reflect on why I did not conquer them.
The Transcending Waves planner has everything you want in a planner without having to buy more than one. It's so easy to make it into what you want, plus its small and sturdy which is very important if you ask me.
I would recommend you guys check this planner out. Honestly if your in the market for a good planner this is definitely one of the best for the price. On top of the great price, they did offer me a code so if your in the market for a planner feel free to use my code.
10% discount Code : JACKIEOXO

cooking
If you're like me, a self-proclaimed amateur chief that your go-to dish is a stating vegetable and putting things in a microwave, or being sous chef to the actual chef (aka.. grabbing ingredients from the refrigerator and then pressing play on the remote to the new Top Chef episode). And if your like me looking for an easy way to eat clean with out the actual hard work of meal prep then I got a perfect solution, to having health food for your body and soul without having to sign up for one of those subscriptions boxes. Those tiresome subscriptions where you need to do all the work and then you end up getting annoyed and putting it off for another day as you head to the Whole Food food court ( that's what I call the warm food area at Whole Foods).
If you follow me on social media, you know my solution to this is Model Meals. I get asked so many questions about the company and how they work and why I chose to use them. So that's why I am answering all your questions with this blog post. Disclaimer:They do not sponsor me.
I just like utilizing the company and believe they are an easy solution to eating really healthy food which taste really great! Not like other meal subscription services that are for only weight loss and come with some questionable ingredients.
Model Meal is a meal prep service. What makes them different is that you don't have to do a subscription or do any cooking. All you have to do is pop them on the stove or microwave for a couple of minutes, and your meals ready. All their foods are whole 30, and Paleo approved. They use local and organic products. I don't think I know of any other company doing this, do you?
Ordering from them is super easy you go to the website pick the meals you want their menu is always changing. They deliver twice a week Wednesday and Sunday. Sadly they are only located in specific areas. Down below is a list were they are currently offering services.
The reason I love to use them is because they are super easy to order and heat up. They help me with the struggle of trying figure out what to make during the week for lunch or on the weekends. Not only are they easy but their quality of the products are amazing and their meals are so creative, honestly they use ingredients in such a great way that I would have never though of. I have a couple of favorite meals, the number one being their tacos, their tortilla is terrific and made from celery root, and their salsa is fantastic!
So enough talking about them! If you want to try them out and you're in one of the areas they deliver I do have a code for you to get $25 off your first order. If you don't want to use my code that's okay, they also have one for first-time orders on their Instagram.
$25 off First order
Please let me know if you do try them out and what you thought?

I joined the Glossier cult and it saved my skin.
Tuesday, February 27, 2018
So this an update on my skin routine which has changed a bunch since the first time I ever did a blog post on skincare. As I have mentioned in the past, I have very oily skin that is acne prone which is the primary reason why I fell in love with Glossier. Glossier was the first brand which got me thinking about putting my skin first. They were just not selling me the idea that I needed to cover up my skin imperfections with makeup. This was a revolutionary idea, attest for me it was.Hey Guy's,
Since my last post about my skincare, I went over the basics like:
1. Washing my face during the morning and night.2. Making sure my make up is completely off prior to going to bed.3. Moisturizing is a must4. Face mask are essential!
Now as I have matured with my Skincare routine, I have developed some new skin commandments I would like to talk to you about, and one of the significant new products I had love currently and made part of my daily routine is the Glossier " "
Yes, this product works!
Before I received the solute in the mail, my skin was causing me to cry. I was trying everything to get it better, and everything I tried was just not working. So I decided to give the solution a try, and I never made a better choice. It made me hugely difference on my skin and took my routine to a whole new level and trust me my skin is thanking me for it.
The solute leaves my skin clear and feeling clean, but at the same time, I feel like it tightens it and gets completely ride the oil on my face. Sunblock and moisturizer are essential after using the solute. Its such an easy routine all you only have to use the solute once a day, personally I love to use it at night because I feel it works the best for me.
I'm currently using this daily so that I will do a follow up on my final thought this is my third week using it, and I just couldn't wait to tell you all about it.
My current routine at night looks like this:
1.Washing all my face makeup entirely off I use this... and
2. I use a towel to make sure my face has no makeup left.3.Use the solute with this fantastic cotton pads.4. Apply sunblock and lotion (I like to use both, so my skin doesn't feel too tight.)5. Depending on the day I like to apply6. I end my day with a relaxing tea or lemon water.
If you guys would like to try the product I do have a 10% discount code for you: 10% OFF
Gift Guide
Valentine's is just around the corner (basically next Wednesday), and I know most people think of it as a corporate holiday. I’m there with you, but over the years I gave into it. Yes, it’s a great day to celebrate with that particular special person in your life, but for us singles, we get to spend that day with our Galentine's and there is no shame in that. Some of us even think of Valentine's as a holiday to thank that fantastic friend for being our ride or die.
So I looked around for some great gift ideas for that great friend in your life. And you guessed it Target like Amazon had great cheap cute things you can get your gals. I have linked a couple of items you might like to get your friend or even yourself.
One of my favorite gifts to give all the time no matter the occasion are cups.Target has a fantastic variety of cups that are very cute here are a few of my favorite.
A little something extra I saw Target doing is Old Hollywood movies/ Romcoms. Not only do these make great gifts but these are also a great way to spend the day.
Okay! Something Target always does right is skincare/make up.
Most gifts are under $25 the only thing over $25 is the Google Mini, but you guys its so worth the $40. I use mine all the time for anything.
I hope this small gift guide gives you some ideas of what to get your gals or even yourself. If you do want to by any of these items you can find them here on Target Gift Guide
Galentine's the Valentine's that actually counts !

travel
This weekend my baby sister turned 23, and what better way to celebrate than going back to her college town. We had her show us all her favorite spots in Santa Cruz.
Santa Cruz is a 45-minute drive from our place. To get there we took highway 17, lots of turns but an amazing scenery. To me, Santa Cruz is not just the boardwalk, the mystery spot, or the ocean it has so much more to offer like great food, COFFEE, pastry shops, and redwoods.
After the drive through the 17( I feel like you enjoy it when you are not driving) , we went straight to the Seabreeze Cafe. The wait was 45 minutes long so we decided to wait it out and head for some coffee for me. The restaurant does offer free coffee as you wait but I decided to walk over to my favorite coffee place which is just around the corner. Sea breeze Cafe is a couple of blocks away from Verve Coffee. What I love about Verve is how friendly and helpful their staff are on top of that the location and vibe is just fantastic. If your an Instagram person like me the set up is a dream.
After Verve we went back to the restaurant and as we got there our table was ready. The food was good, I got a scramble which was very cheese and lots of veggies. Mostly all the breakfast options do offer the choice of toast, muffin, or cinnamon bun. Get the cinnamon bun it is totally worth it, I thought the food was good but honestly it was nothing amazing. We felt it was just your average breakfast place aside from the cinnamon buns. We did not think the food was worth that long of a wait but that was just our opinion. If your not a breakfast person you might just want to skip. They also only take cash no cards; they do have an ATM if needed but there is a small fee for using it.
After breakfast, we headed over to Capitola that's like 15 minutes away and enjoy the day exploring and just spending time on the beach. After that, we hit up Gayle’s Bakery the line was too long. Plus we were truly craving ice cream, so we headed back to downtown Santa Cruz and went to the Penny Ice creamery. They make all the ice cream at their location and use organic and locally sourced products. It’s amazing and their home made ice cream cones are just as good as their ice cream. Overall, it was a great girl day trip to celebrate my sister birthday and just get out an explore Santa Cruz.

Lets talk
life
When I first started thinking about the idea of creating my own blog. I had endless amount of ideas and plans for what I wanted to do with it. As I reflect on the couple of blog post that I have done. I have notice that I have not been keeping up my promise of writing more, and giving this blog an actual chance to make it what I want to be and what it can be.
What I learned in these last month of writing is that blogging is not easy. I found myself running out of those amazing ideas which I had when I first thought of creating my blog. There would be months were I posted nothing at all, or started writing something and just completely scrap the idea.

I am personally writing this post as my way of setting new intentions I have for next couple of months.
1. Write! Just write even if I don't think people will like or connect with the writing.
2. Plan out content.(Have an actual planner.)
3.Keep a believable schedule of posting.
4.Learn more about actually blogging and new techniques I can apply.
5. Most of all have fun doing it.
If you a blogger or someone who has some tips on keeping your intentions. Please let me know down below I love any tips or feedback.
