Poshmark selling

Branding on Point!

Friday, January 31, 2020
With this year being the start of my second year of owning my own business, thanks to Poshmark (If you're new to this blog I sell used clothing on the app Poshmark , which saves them from ending up in landfills). I decided that since it was the start of my second year of Poshing it was time to step up my game and start working on branding. When it comes to today's world, branding is so essential for a business. It is that little something extra that makes you stand out from other companies.

Use Code Jackieoxo to get $10 credits after first purchase on the app Poshmark .

One of the main things when it came to deciding what was going to be my brand, other than my logo, was that I wanted my brand to stand for and that was sustainability.
In our current climate, sustainability is necessary!  In addition, every little thing we can do helps.

When it comes to reselling clothes at times it can become easy to overlook the amount of waste were putting out there with all our packaging we use to ship our orders out with.

Therefore, I know I wanted to find a sustainable source when it came to packaging.

For Poshmark having sustainable packaging was very important for me, not only am I helping the planet by saving clothing from going to the landfill (The U.S. alone sends about 21 billion pounds of textile waste to landfills every year) but my packaging is also helping fight the battle.

Did you know packaging makes up over 23% of waste that just what makes it to the landfill each year?

I found out about the Brand Noissue, through Instagram and from other business owners who were using them. Noissue creates high quality, sustainable packaging without any sacrifice. Not just that they help you create amazing high quilt tissue and packaging for your brand. They use ink that is soy-based and there tissue is completely acid free and FSC Certified.

So That's why I used them to create my own personalized branded tissue, and let me tell you  it was the easiest thing ever! Being able to have my brand logo on tissue of such high quality and not harm the plant is an amazing thing for my personal but not only that It has helped me step up on my own branding game and made me feel more like my own business owner.

Not only was I able to create high quality tissue with my logo but also stickers I can include in all my purchase. This is helping me stand out for just being another reseller on the app Poshmark, but also my own business if one day I do decide to step away from the app and open my own store.

I also want to mention about Noissue Mailers! I do not know if you have ever looked up sustainable mailers online, they are not the prettiest. However, Noissue are fine to look at not only that they inform your customer on facts and get the conversation started on sustainability. The mailers are waterproof, stretch and completely compostable.

If you are on the same boat as me and are trying to build your brand I definitely recommend you check out Noissue to help you create customized tissue and sticker that help you stick out, and not just that help our planet.

Welcome to Carmel- By-The Sea!

Thursday, April 18, 2019

My sister and I did the one hour drive from my hometown to the charming city of Carmel by the Sea. This charming town is the perfect getaway spot for any occasion. For me, it was a quick weekend trip to destress from work. Carmel by the Sea is a small beach town with amazing restaurants, shops, and hotels. We were super excited to check out Carmel for the first time as adults. During our visit we  stay at Hofsas House in Carmel by the Sea. In my opinion, one of the best place to stay at when visiting Carmel by the Sea. The Hofsas House has been family own for over 60 years. The Thesis family has worked very had over many generations to provide a special experience for all of their guest. This unique Bulvarian- inspired hotel has 38 one of a kind rooms on their property with amenities like fire places, private balconies, kitchens and patios. And because of their hotels location your almost  guaranteed a spectacular view right from your room. If the beauty of the property was not enough they also offer continental breakfast for all their guest.

What I loved the most was the decor, the entire boutique hotel is lovely pink with a touch of black surrounded with different flowers throughout the property. Something completely different to the usual white walls we see at almost all the hotels or Airbnbs right now.  You really can see the European touches throughout the hotel. On top of that they had beautiful Dutch doors that you can open to let the rays of sunlight and breeze in. Depending of what room you get you might be lucky enough to see the ocean right from your room. The view in the morning is simply breathtaking. Every room in this property has it own unique decor with antique finishes which just furthers add to its charm. One other perk of the hotels is their heated pool and dry sauna, which are perfect to further relax during your stay. Overall, this boutique hotel is an instagramers/ blogger paradise. On top of that the staff is genuinely friendly they go above and beyond for their guest. They gave us information of the town and all of the must see spots it has to offer. Something we loved about this place is the fact that It’s literally less than 5 minute walk from anything you want to do for the day, honestly you don't even need your car to get around. Once you get there you won't even have to more your car.

* I was hosted by Hofsas House for an honest review.

So what did my sister and I do during our weekend in Carmel by the Sea ? Well we did a little bit of everything.

On our first official full day my sister and I got up around seven to go for a walk / run on the beach. Whenever we are on vacation we like getting up early and explore. The hotel is like a 5 minute walk from the center and another 5 minute walk from their to the beach. As we were making our way to the beach we were lucky to the sunrise from our balcony.  Not only that it seemed like everyone was sleeping in so it was very peaceful on our walk down to the beach, a very nice way to start our day if you ask me. We actually went during the off season so Carmel was not so packed with tourist so it actually allowed for a more peaceful time, since you could walk around and not feel so crowded.

Our hotel offered us continental breakfast with orange juice, coffee, and pastries.  As we got ready to conquer the day we got some pastries and juice. I highly recommend trying the pastries I believe they get them from a bakery in town. After getting ready my sister and I decided to try Carmel Coffee I had seen this place on one of our walks and when I searched online for the best coffee places around this one came up. Its located down a cute ally (great spot for an instagram shot), I got a latte and my sister got the iced chi and we split a breakfast sandwich.  I would recommend the breakfast sandwich, it's pretty big and great for sharing. The coffee was okay I was expecting it to be very good since so many people had recommended this place. If you do want a little stronger coffee I would try carmel valley coffee definitely worth it!

Down below you will find pictures of our trip including pictures where we ate and a little travel vlog hope you enjoy and consider visiting Carmel by the sea for your vacation and decided to try out Hofsas House as a place to stay you would truly enjoy it.

Late Post: Thanksgiving in Sin City.

Monday, December 17, 2018

Yes ! I went back to Vegas before the year was even over. Compared to our last trip of one quick weekend trip. We decided to stay for four days and celebrate thanksgiving in sin city and get rid of any stress that came with thanksgiving. As you know I am not much for the nightlife we come to Vegas to relax.

We flew Spirit and I know people have horror stories when it comes to this airline but not me. I always had a positive experience. I know I’m saving money (major plus) So I understand it’s not first class travel and I’m okay with it. Plus this time my 94 year old grandmother came with us and they were truly helpful and made the trip it less stressful.
The first thing we did when we arrive was to pick up our rental car, we were going to go to a couple different destinations during this trip so a rental car was the best option for our trip. The best thing about Las Vegas is they have a free shuttle to take you to the Rental car terminal it’s basically like a min airport terminal with all the car rentals chains located inside. So if your renting a car make sure to take the shuttle to the terminal there is one every 3 minutes or less, during this thanksgiving weekend the line was long but there was always at least three buses making the line go very quick! But please take in mine if you are renting a car to drive around las Vegas. The hotels do now charge for parking around 9 for 2 hours yes even if you’re staying there. If you have a club card like MGM Visa or  MGM rewards and are at a certain tear you get free parking at all of their resorts, luckily for us my mom is a pearl member so we basically visited all MGM  restores since parking was free.

This time we decided to stay at Mandalay Bay as some you know we tend to always stay at the MGM Grand but we diced to do something differently. They gave us an amazing room with the best bathroom and amazing beds our view was out towards the pool and not the strip but I was totally okay with that. They have amazing pools but since it was the low season they did only have a couple open.

Instagraming in Vegas !

There are so many amazing Instagram spots in Las Vegas just on the stip and in the hotels. But if you’re looking for something different the best part Is Seven Magic Mountains only 35 minutes away from the strip and completely free. We took a quick trip in the morning hoping it would not be to pack and were able to take amazing images and walk around looking at the boulders.

You all know I love myself some good coffee and donuts so when I saw that Vegas had a Doubt Bar I need to  hit them up! We got there at 7:30 they open at 7 and they were already almost out of stuff. Luckily for me I got to try the Homer donut inspired by the Simpson donut. They had so many more amazing donuts to try out and they tasted amazing. They around $7 dollars with out taxes and so large they are totally worth it you can always split with some one. They also have a little Instagram spot outside you can take a picture if you want. As we ate and drake our coffee the store was starting to slowly get pack so if you’re going to be trying it out and want  a specific donut get there earlier since they do run out before there closing time.

Since it was Thanksgiving weekend many place were closed Thursday and Friday, so I did not get to hit some other amazing sports I heard about like the None museum in down ton las Vegas, that one does cost around $20 during the day for a ticket. There are also so many cool murals downtown that are amazing Instagram spots in my opinion so definitely check them out.

One of my other places to take pictures on the Las Vegas strip is on parking garages all the way on the top. As you all know, one of my favorite spots is on top of the Bellagio parking garage. Even if you’re not driving, just go to the self-parking garage and all the way to the last floor and you can get a great image of the Pairs hotel Eiffel tower and many more.

Over all spending Thanksgiving weekend in Las Vegas was a fun experience and relaxing at the same time. Sometimes you just need to step back from the holiday madness and actually just enjoy it .Keep your eyes out because I have one more fun trip plan for this year before it raps up, and no its not to Vegas again.
